Let Calendly Save You Time

All of us use our calendars to schedule our availability, and in some cases, exchange multiple messages to find a common time that works with the schedules of others. This activity can prove to be quite time consuming.

Calendly is a solution that makes a person’s availability visible to anyone, inside or outside their organization, to find and schedule a meeting based on criteria set forth by the calendar owner. Specifically, others can only see the times a person is available, not the details of any of their appointments.

This app can be used for scheduling appointments, meetings, and events. Rather than email chains and phone tag, you can send your availability with a Calendly link (even if the people booking time with you don’t use Calendly). Invitees will see all the available openings in your schedule and can select the one that suits them best. That ensures the ideal time slot for both parties, eliminates time zone confusion, and avoids the strings of conversations about who’s available when.

Calendly Pricing

Free for the basic version, which includes unlimited events but only one type of event. The Premium plan ($8/user/month) gives you more customization options and allows you to schedule all types of events and more. The Pro Plan ($12/user/month) adds SMS notifications and invitee redirections, plus more native integrations.

Calendly at UM is already set to connect to our (employee) Microsoft 365 (Outlook) calendars. It requires each person to create an account on their website and then integrate them.

You can sign up with Calendly with your @olemiss.edu email address and select the option to “Sign up with Office 365.” Proceed to login with your WebID and password and follow the options to connect Calendly to your Outlook calendar.
